Age Group Records take a hammering

Nina Anderson sets European 400m Record.

As our members prepare for BMAF Championships and are also being called upon by their UKA Clubs plus our increasing membership, it is not surprising to see some of our long standing Records come under pressure.

Reigning European W45 Champion, Nina Anderson ran a brilliant 57.56sec circuit in Brussels on 30 June.
Over in Belfast Ernest Tuff has re-written the M80 throws Records after sending the Hammer out to 40.03m; the Shot 11.22m and heaved the Weight 16.99m. He is now on his way to the BMAF Track & Field Championships in August.
Another young M80 in top form is the Hampshire thrower, Victor Adcock, he sent the javelin out to 30.30m during the MMAC/WMAA Championships in Nuneaton on 3 June.
Finishing 5th in the mixed ages One Mile Races at the Worcester Open Meeting on 7 June, 67-year old Derek Jackson set a new M65 British Masters Record in the now rarely run mile in 5.28.9sec.

Since her return to competition, NMAC member Wendy Laing has set about tackling the W55
High Jump record. Competing in the Northern Track & Field League in Leigh on 3 June, she
cleared 1.49m on her 2nd attempt for a new W55 mark.
Congratulations to you all.
