Finding the results of some of our distance runners who ran in the London marathon is extremely difficult, but it would appear that 8 out of the 10 winners of the men’s age-groups are BMAF members. Congratulations to you all. It was not just our members who were leading by example, your Road Running Secretary Walter Hill finished, he then had to travel overseas in one of his other many roles to an IAU event, and he is also a UKA Team Manager!

He set up the software to accept entries, process results, updates news and handles the huge database task. He stood on the sidelines cheering on his son and daughter seeing both upstage his marathon best of 2:45, albeit Peter ran that as a mature Masters athlete. His son clocked 2:41:25, seen here No 1716, and his daughter, in the front of the group: No 788, ran 2:44:35. She like her father is a Field Judge and also a Club Chairwoman, helps at League Meetings, has a professional career and a young family. There is an old adage “when you need something done; ask a busy person.”!
