Current World W55 1500m Indoor Champion Clare Elms, VAC, ran 4.48.65sec in the Norman Fowler Memorial Open Meeting at Tonbridge on 22nd April 2019 to break her own World W55 outdoor Record.

This was then quickly reduced by Ireland’s athlete Anne Gilshinan whom clocked a breathtaking 4.45.65sec on 4 May at a meet in Greystones, Co Wicklow. Anne is no stranger to our shores, she took the W50 BMAF 1500m title in Birmingham last year, then age 54, in 4.58.65sec.

Phenomenal running by both ladies!
