Well done to those of you who ran the Westminister Mile over the weekend!

For those of you that didn’t  know the Vitality Westminster Mile was launched by  The London Marathon Events in partnership with Westminster City Council  back in 2013.  This was to continue a legacy event from the 2012 Olympic Games.

This year saw an increase in master’s attendance for the men, but only 45 entrants for the women, however a high calibre with some fantastic times recorded. This year saw Alyson Dixon (Sunderland Strollers) step down from the marathon to win the mile in a fast time of 5:02. Followed then by Charlene Jacobs-Conradie (Luton AC) in 5:10 and then the final Place went to Clare Elms (Dulwich) in 5:10 for 3rd.

START OF THE WOMEN’S MASTER’S MILE

Onto the men we saw some very quick times and leading those home for the win was Craig Sharp (Central Park) in 4:33, then Dan Williams (Les Croupiers) for  2nd place also in 4:33.  Closely followed in by Mick Hill (Leeds AC) in 4:35 finishing 3rd home.
