The Olympic marathoner has won the world 50km title on her ultra running debut, breaking the World record, European, & British record with her time of 3:07:20 and leading a GB 1-2, with Helen Davies claiming silver in another fantastic time in Romania.
Another individual medal for the GB team was claimed by Dan Nash as finishing in third in a time of 2:49:01, the men’s race won by Spain’s Iraitz Arrospide in 2:47:42. South Africa’s Lungile Gongqa was second in 2:48:26.
Like with a high proportion of the competitors are masters, which goes to prove age is just a number!
The Ladies team came home with Gold to repeat on the same success of the 50k Doha event in 2016. Fruition of hard work also reaped up rewards with the men also claiming a podium finish to take Bronze.
