Masters Indoor Championships – Important Notice

The British Masters Indoor Track & Field and Winter Throws Championships 2020 are taking place on 7-8 March this year at Lee Valley.  They are open to all BMAF area club members, whatever your standard but you can also expect to be up against many of the best masters track & field athletes in the country.

Prior to that are the British Masters National Indoor Pentathlon Championships and the South of England Masters Indoor Track & Field Championships 2020, which both take place at Lee Valley on 23rd February.  Medals are no easier to win but they can also be regarded as a good competition workout in preparation for the national championships two weeks later.

Provisional timetables are provided on the BMAF website fixtures page http://bmaf.org.uk/fixtures/, as well as on the competition home page.  There may be some changes to the timing of events in the final timetables published after entries close in order to accommodate the numbers entered in each event, but the day of the event itself will not change.

Open Members

Any athlete of any nationality over the age of 35 is eligible to compete in these championships. If you finish in the first three in any event in any age group, you get the appropriate medal.  In the British national championships, the British competitors who finish in the top three Britons in any event in any age group will get the appropriate medals.

If you are not a BMAF club member, you must first sign up to be an Open member of the BMAF, which costs nothing but there is a small supplement to pay for each competition entry.  Registration includes confirmation of your nationality and date of birth.  If you are resident in Britain or have joined a British club, then you must also be registered with the relevant home country (England, Wales, Scotland, N. Ireland) athletics federation in order to compete.

Registration and the entry forms are done via OpenTrack, our membership and competition management system.  Please read the Newcomers section and specifically that on Open Members, in the banner headline on the front page of the BMAF website before going to OpenTrack.
