We have been informed by World Masters Athletics that the LOC in Toronto have announced the cancellation of the Track & Field Championships scheduled for 20 July-1 August 2020.
The BMAF fully understand and sympathise with Paul Osland and his Team as it would appear they, and the City of Toronto, were well on the way for what would have been a memorable 45th Anniversary Track & Field Championships. With the full support of the City behind them, they had Sponsors on board, no easy task and even more difficult for a Masters Championships. Planning on getting 8,000 competitors from 70 countries, the Province would have expected an estimated $25m economic boost.
With the disappointment of not being able to compete in Braga, now Toronto, and the cancellation of our Road Relays and Pentathlon, there is still a lot to look forward to and keep training for. It is a well established fact that a fit body recovers much quicker after an operation than the less conditioned.
