Anyone over the age of 35 who wishes to compete as a guest competitor in BMAF track/field, cross country and race walking individual competitions can do so if they meet the requirements for being a BMAF Open Competitor. You are free to do this if you are not yet ready to commit to joining a BMAF area club and wish to see how you get on. The requirements for UKA registration still apply. In England and Wales this means you have to belong to an affiliated club, not necessarily a masters club, whilst in Scotland and Northern Ireland, registrations are accepted directly.
Overseas guest competitors are particularly welcome and there is no requirement for them to be registered to UKA.
The steps to register consist of the following:
1) Provide personal information and contact details
2) Ask the BMAF open competitors secretary to confirm your registration in order that you can enter a BMAF competition.
Online facilities for registration and entries to BMAF competitions are initiated via the menu option “OpenTrack (Membership/Comp. Entry)” located on the top right of this screen or via the fixtures page
Open Competitors competing in BMAF championships are entitled to win medals and other awards – refer to the specific rules of each competition.
Open Competitors are not eligible for some BMAF events nor to compete in the GB team in European and World Championships and so if you wish to be able to enter all BMAF and international masters competitions, as well as receiving a discount on your entry to BMAF competitions, you should consider joining one of the BMAF area clubs/regional associations listed here.
For guidance on becoming an Open Competitor or help with other issues related to the usage of OpenTrack, please refer to the BMAF OpenTrack User Guide and if you still need assistance please contact the BMAF open competitors secretary for further support
