European MASTERS ATHLETICS SPRING 2013.
Record for indoors and stalwarts like Ian Richards, Arthur
Jane Horder. Thomson and Eric Horwill all got on the podium as
well as Noel Blatchford and Ann Walker. The relays
are the grand finale and always a rich source of
medals and here it was no exception.
Red and yellow vested Spanish runners saturated the
5km cross-country races run over two and a half
rutted circuits of the racecourse on the final day. Only
the women featured in the fiercely competitive
individual placing, W45 Scottish Veteran Harrier Sue
Ridley and the ever consistent W50 Jill Harrision got
silver, W60 Ros Tabor and Pauline Rich bronze. Spain
were well on their way to a unique clean sweep in the
men’s and women’s team titles until Angela Copson
(two more Gold’s) led Ros Tabor and Sue James to a
resounding W60 team victory- well she would
wouldn’t she!!
