As all existing team members will be aware and particularly for those who have recently joined us and who wish to compete in the European Masters Indoor Championships in Ancona and/or the World Masters Track & Field Championships in Perth; it is a requirement that you must wear the official BMAF vest in any international competition which is held under the auspices of World Masters Athletics or European Masters Athletics. Failure to do so will lead to disqualification.
For some years now, the official clothing has been supplied to us by Bourne Sports. Their contract ended in 2014 and they were replaced as the official suppliers by Sports Creative. Regrettably, Sports Creative’s products have not met our expectations or requirements in terms of quality and there have been other problems. We therefore decided that it is necessary to change Suppliers again when our contract with Sports Creative terminates in a couple of months’ time. We are currently in negotiations with potential new retailers but no appointment has been made at this time. Please note that any BMAF vest which has been approved by BMAF may still be worn for international events and the new Supplier will be using the same design on improved quality material. For anyone who does not currently have any of the authorized team clothing, you may purchase the kit from Sports Creative for the time being if you wish. Alternatively a plain white singlet will be acceptable in lieu of a BMAF vest for Ancona. We will keep members informed of further developments.
