The IAAF has announced a 4-year ban on Australian M55 high jumper, Volodymyr Shelever, who failed an Anti Doping test on 5 November last year after jumping 1.71m during the World Masters Athletics Track & Field Championships in Perth. The gold medal now goes to the South African Neil Bredeveldt who cleared 1.68m on his second attempt from Thomas Foley, USA, who also jumped 1.68m at his third attempt. Finland’s Lauri Linberg now moves into the bronze medal position. EMAC member Richard Phelan moves up to 5th from the 13 finalists. There is no record of Shelever having competed in Lyon or Daegu.
Random testing is carried out at both European and World Masters Championships.
In Italy, W45 Martina Anna Del Rosso failed a test after a marathon in Avezzano in October last year, she has also been suspended for four years.
