For a trail race to reach its 36th year it must be special and the North Downs Run 30K fits the bill. This Sunday, the race had closed it doors a few weeks before race day and there were definitely no entries on the day.
60 BMAF members entered from far and wide, many retuning to experience the challenging and awesome course over the scenic North Downs in Kent. This race is so special that most of the protruding tree roots and small boulders are sprayed orange. This level of safety over 30K is amazing and there are so many marshals it just about impossible to go of course. Not only do you get a 5 star course to race on you get real value for money. Everything an athlete would want plus a little bit more!
We only ever receive positive comments and feedback and yet to find a better, safer trail race in the UK. Therefore I will be asking to return in 2020.
Finally a big thank you to Trevor Edgley of the promoting club Istead and Ifield Harriers whose help made it all happen so smoothly.
Next year please enter, you will not be disappointed!
