“I’m not a fan of racing but do try to run for my club Altrincham once a year at the Veterans’ relays. This time I was less keen, as the thought of running on my own was daunting, but the fact that it would raise money for Macmillan Cancer was persuasive. Having had cancer six years ago, and with my annual check up due in July, I felt it was my duty not only to run for my club but also for such an important charity.
Dodging joggers, cyclists, skate-boarders and dogs on a sunny evening at Woodbank Park, Stockport, was interesting but I was sufficiently exhausted at the finish to know I had done my best!!
Thanks for organising this virtual race and thanks to everyone for taking part and raising money for Macmillan!”
