We are delighted to release dates and venues for the British Masters Athletics Federation championships in the 2022 outdoor season.

After a successful 2021, the main British Championships will return to Derby once again. The pentathlon and 10,000 metre championships are at Oxford, while the longer multi events are heading to Liverpool.

Full details of all events are below. Detailed information will be posted on the Masters Athletics UK website and social media nearer the time.

BMAF Pentathlon & Throws Pentathlon and 10,000m Championships

8 May 2022 – Oxford

The timetable at Oxford will feature contests for the British title in both the pentathlon and throws pentathlon.

The event will also feature the British Championship 10,000 metre races within the weekend’s programme.

Entries will be available on OpenTrack, and will open around 2 months in advance.

BMAF Track and Field Championships

10-12 June 2022 – Derby

Due to the increasing popularity of the British Championships and restrictions around competition licensing, some older age groups will again compete in some long throws events on Friday evening.

Championship events contested will be the same as the 2021 edition found on OpenTrack here but will likely revert to the old format over 2 days, rather than an age group split.

Entries will be available on OpenTrack, and will open later in the spring.

BMAF Decathlon/Heptathlon Championships

20-21 August 2022 – Liverpool

Liverpool will host this year’s multi-events championships, incorporated into a larger festival of combined events.

The weekend will host both decathlon and heptathlon competitions, and should be a great celebration of the disciplines. With the Liverpool track being the place where KJT’s career started, you never know who might make an appearance!

Entries will be available on OpenTrack, will open closer to the time.

BMAF 5000m Championships

TBC

The British Championship races over 5000 metres are still awaiting a confirmed date/venue.

Information will be on social media and the Masters Athletics UK website when details are confirmed.
