Lewes Athletic Club’s Sarah Webster has made history by setting a new Women’s European and World 24-hour record. Sarah covered an astonishing 278.622 kilometres at the IAU 24-Hour World Championships in Albi, France, on October 19th, 2025.
The 24-hour ultramarathon is an extraordinary test of human endurance and willpower. Competitors must run over a fixed loop course for 24 hours, with the total distance covered determining the winner. This race took place on a 1.5-kilometre loop track in Albi, in France.
There is a BMAF connection in that Sarah is the daughter of Peter Kennedy, formerly Chairman of BMAF and now a director of BMAF Services Ltd.
