Entry Statistics of competitors from GB and other countries for the WMA Track & Field Championships in Lyon in August

8,042 competitors from a record breaking 98 countries have entered the World Masters Athletics biennial Track & Field Championships in the UNESCO city of Lyon from 4-16 August, making this the third largest entry behind Miyazaki, Japan in 1993 (11,475 competitors), and Riccione, Italy in 2007 (8,946). The 587-strong team is our largest since we hosted these Championships at Gateshead, Chester-le-Street and Jarrow in 1999. At the General Assembly, Malaga and Venice will present their Bid to host the 2018 Championships. Venice venues include Jesolo, Caorle and Eraclea.
