Representing the interests of masters athletes on the BMAF Executive Committee
Harry is a long time athlete having been an active member of Elswick Harriers in North East England since he was aged 12 years. An Hon. Life member of his club and North East Masters Athletics Association (NEMA), Harry’s competitive career spans 56 years and among his athletics achievements were; gold medal at the N.E. Counties Youths Cross Country Championships and 18th place in the Youths English National at Parliament Hill in 1964.
As a Masters athlete he has collected numerous medals at regional, national and international championships. He has also been highly ranked in the national rankings at 5000m, 10000m, 5k and 10k road.
One of his proudest moments was when he carried the torch and lit the flame with Jim Alder and Ted Joynson at the successful WAVA Stadia Championships held in Gateshead in 1999.
