All our Members who are essential workers and
To all UKA Clubs who entered our Virtual Road Relays.
Our membership goes right across the whole social spectrum as any person who has reached their 35th birthday, whatever your current level of fitness, is most welcome to join one of our Clubs.
We are aware that many of you work in the NHS, or are now classified as essential workers, and will have had to put your training on hold to meet the extra demands and responsibilities placed on your shoulders to help your fellow citizens during this unprecedented time.
Our popular Road Relays, scheduled for May in Sutton Park, had to be cancelled due to COVID-19 but Peter Kennedy and his IT team initiated a Virtual Relay that has proven to be immensely popular. As a generous nation supports NHS Charities, some other Charities have seen a noticeable drop in revenue. We chose MacMillan Nurses as an option to donate to instead of a race entry fee or prize.
We are absolutely amazed at just how generous you runners and Clubs have been and we were soon passed our initial target. A total of £12,142.50p has been contributed to this wonderful Charity from 4,140 entries. Thank You, all members and non members who have given so generously.
