BMAF is very happy to announce the dates of the majority of championship track and field fixtures for the 2023 outdoor season.

The European Masters Athletics Outdoor Championships will also take place later this year from 21 September to 1 October, in Pescara, Italy.

A fuller calendar can be found on the BMAF fixtures page.

CANCELLED — BMAF Heptathlon/Decathlon Championships

Dates: 15-16 July; Venue: Wavertree, Liverpool

This year’s heptathlon and decathlon championships will again be combined with the North West Combined Events Championships, as the event returns to Liverpool’s Wavertree Stadium.

It is with regret that despite best efforts to retrieve the situation created by the North West Combined Events team cancelling their event in which our Combined Events championships was incorporated, that has been to no avail, so sadly the event won’t take place.

We are discussing possible alternatives but as you will appreciate these are limited and at this late stage may not be practical.

BMAF Throws Pentathlon Championships

Date: 20 August; Venue: Horspath, Oxford

The throws pentathlon too will return to last year’s venue, as Horspath plays host to throwers of all ages.

BMAF Track and Field Championships

Dates: 1-3 Sept; Venue: Moorways Stadium, Derby

The summer’s main championships is in the Midlands once again. Victors will be crowned over three days of competition at the beginning of September.

Last year’s championships were livestreamed, and you can look back at all the action from Saturday and Sunday on YouTube.

BMAF 10,000 Championships

Date: 16 Sept; Venue: Monkton Stadium, Jarrow

As well as the heptathlons and decathlons, also up north will be the 10,000 metre championships. Long distance runners of all age groups will be able to contest a British title over 25 laps of the Jarrow track.

The dates and locations for the Pentathlon and 5000 championships are still to be confirmed.

All entries will be available on OpenTrack in due course, and announced when open.

If you’re can’t wait for the summer to start to get your masters athletics fix, why not look back at the event reports and profiles published for last month’s World Indoor Championships?
