OpenTrack Insights
The OpenTrack site continues to become more sophisticated. Follow the “Competitors” link to see a full list which you can then filter by gender (blue for a boy, pink for a girl) and age group, to see who you might be up against. Click on the athlete’s name and OpenTrack shows you their pedigree.
Personal Insights
But the real point of this note is to offer a personal insight.
We have asked a few athletes to tell us why thy enjoy competing in British Masters Events. This response is from Paula Williams from Stratford upon Avon AC who is also President Elect of Midland Masters.
‘These two events go straight into my calendar each year.
I look forward to the indoor champs because. Well come on.. it’s indoors!
It’s a great opportunity to test out my athleticism post Christmas and a fantastic chance to catch up with my athletics family.
Those that know me on social media know that I love my selfies at athletics events and the British Indoor champs is your opportunity to be captured on film looking gorgeous – instead of drenched and windswept.
Competing in athletics for the past 10 has had such a positive effect on my mental wellbeing and seeing so many like minded people at these events really lifts me.
I can’t wait to see you all as we challenge ourselves at Lee Valley (in our Christmas Tree spikes) and maybe prepare for competitions overseas’
