In Derby 26th – 28th July
Here is how Linsi Scottow came to be entering
For those who are not sure whether to enter the British Masters Track and Field Championships – we are going to feature some athletes who will share their reasons for competing. Hopefully it will inspire lots more people to head to Derby at the end of July. So here is the first – from newcomer Linsi (member of Nuneaton Harriers):
In 2023, my daughter joined the club I started my athletics career at and seeing some familiar faces from childhood (and with a bit of persuasion from the Vets team leader Carolyn), I was encouraged to have a go in the Vets league. Fast forward 18 months and having got the buzz to compete, train regularly and having seen some results and social media pages regarding the masters champs – it just made sense to enter and see how I get on! Masters athletics, from what I’ve seen, is such a friendly, encouraging environment and I’m loving every minute of being involved in athletics competitively again. I’m really excited to compete in my first British Masters and would encourage anyone considering it to have a go and put their name down.’
