(A letter to all our athletes that helped raise money for this excellent charity)

Good morning Peter

I hope this email finds you well.

My name is Sue Reece and I am your local Relationship Fundraising Manager for Macmillan Cancer Support in Wales.

I contacted you today to express our thanks and appreciation for your invaluable support last year. I’d like to thank you and all members of the British Masters Athletics Federation for taking part a Virtual 5K Run and for raising £11,852.32 which is truly amazing!

It’s thanks to the dedication and generosity of people like you, that we can continue to be there to do whatever it takes for people living with cancer. For example, your donation could pay for a Macmillan Nurse for over 382 hours helping people living with cancer and their families receive essential medical, practical and emotional support. Please see attached further examples of the amazing impact you have made which I hope you will be able to share with your members.

Why we need your help

115,000 people are living with cancer in Wales and it’s an immense undertaking to ensure that we can do whatever it takes to offer them support when it’s needed. With COVID-19, there has been a sharp drop in our fundraising income and that’s why your donations are so worthwhile and will help Macmillan do whatever it takes to ensure we are there for people who are diagnosed and able to support them with their medical, emotional and financial needs.

I would love to hear more about your motivation for supporting Macmillan. Should you require any further information about our services locally please do get in touch – my contact details are below.

Thanks again for being such an important part of the Macmillan team. You have made a huge difference to so many people across Wales and without your help, we wouldn’t be able to keep providing our vital services.

Kindest regards

Sue
