With Sajid Javid having to isolate due to Covid-19, European travel plans causing significant worries and the NHS tracing app contacting many we know, I feared for yesterday’s BMAF Half Marathon Championships.
However, against all the odds I did not need to worry.
Yes it was very hot and the 13.1 miles is best described as an undulating challenge, but the feedback as athletes finished was all positive.
BMAF entrants had travelled from across the UK and dominated the best-placed finishers.
It was a real pleasure to present the Championships medals on the day with the help of a of 2 volunteers, so a BIG Thank You to Dave Beattie SCVAC and Jeremy Carmichael SCVAC.
One more Championship to bank and remember, but more importantly, thank you to all who travelled in such difficult times.
