After last year’s hiatus it is not surprising to see a record 159 teams heading to Long Eaton this weekend.

Women’s races

Defending champions in the W35 category, Bristol & West, Salford, and Rotherham are all back, and only silver/bronze medallists Derby AC and Redhill Road Runners are missing from the W45 line-up.

Steel City Striders, Beeston AC and Mansfield, who got the fastest W55 leg in 2019, are there, and Steel City W65 will take on Westbury Harriers and Hogweed Trotters.

Men’s races

The M35 contest has 39 teams, with ever-present Salford and Leeds City out to defend their dominance. The M45 match-up should see 20 teams toe the line with Salford, Sutton-in-Ashfield and Mansfield back again.

In the M55 race Leicester Coritanian, Warrington, and Southampton are racing — Winchester and Guildford & Godalming are two of the few Southern clubs travelling. Bristol & West, Westbury, Neath, plus multiple Northern clubs are however making the journey. Host club Long Eaton AC are fielding teams in what looks like a very exciting weekend racing.
